Project Description

This is a roadway widening project to reconstruct Kernan Boulevard from a four lane to a six lane urban roadway. The road will have landscaped medians, curb and gutter, sidewalks, bike lanes, a 12-foot, multi-use path on the east side of the road, utility improvements and a closed drainage system.

Project Status

Final design and right of way acquisition will resume in the second quarter of 2015.

Project Benefits

This will be the last segment of Kernan to be widened. It will enhance pedestrian, bicyclist and motorist safety, reduce congestion, increase mobility, improve drainage and lighting resulting in a healthier community.

About Eagles Creek

Eagles Creek was incorporated by the state of Florida as an officially recognized community in 1992. The current legal title for Eagles Creek / Ashley Woods is “Eagles Creek Owners Association, Inc.”

There have been four building or development phases over the past twelve years which have brought the total number of homes to 672 within the community. The last house was completed and sold in 2006. There are thirteen lakes or retention ponds within the community, of which, one is owned and maintained in full by the association and one has partial proprietary lines owned by the association. All other ponds are owned and maintained by the property owners around those particular lakes.

The Board of Directors positions are voluntary offices and are elected on an annual basis. The Board of Directors operates and governs within accordance of the Bylaws and Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for the community.

The property management for the community is BCM Services, Inc.
